Now seeing patients face-to-face and virtually!
Welcome to Communicare Clinic. We provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment for adults and young people with specialist expertise with the Neurodevelopmental (ND) conditions Autism, ADHD, OCD and tics. We also have a keen interest and understanding of the overlap between physical and mental health and physical problems which are common in neurodivergent individuals.
It is our view that people are complex and can rarely be fully explained by one diagnostic label. Our holistic, formulation based approach makes us unique from other providers who we feel can often focus on symptom checklists and diagnostic labels only. In our clinic, we seek to understand people as individuals and think together with them what the causes of their problems are and how to actively improve them.

ND Assessment
We specialise in the assessment of the neurodevelopmental conditions and how they have shaped people's lives and caused problems over time, considering the cumulative impact of symptoms.
We specialise in considering the overlap and interaction of traits of different ND conditions and how that can mean people don't present in the 'typical' manner. For that reason our general preference is to complete generalised 'neurodevelopmental assessment'. However, we can offer:
- Single assessment (Autism, ADHD & tic disorders)
- Double assessment (typically AuDHD)
- Second opinions
- Diagnostic clarification
- Post-diagnostic support
We recognise that some people may have received a diagnosis but haven't felt it has given them the answers or benefits that they hoped for and can provide reformulation or support to help.
Mental Health
We also offer general psychiatric reviews and can help identify any mental health problems and provide ongoing support for you.
We can diagnose and treat the following conditions in Communicare Clinic, alongside more general medication reviews:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Trauma
- OCD
- Bipolar disorder
- Psychosis
- Personality difficulties
- Medication reviews
Given the significantly higher rate of mental illness in neurodivergent individuals, we have a bespoke approach to general psychiatric review which considers and tailors for this.
ND & Physical Health
Many people experience symptoms that cannot easily be separated into either "physical" or "mental" health. Chronic pain, fatigue, dizziness, headaches, sensory symptoms, autonomic dysfunction, functional neurological symptoms and neurodevelopmental conditions frequently overlap and influence one another.
Rather than focusing on individual symptoms in isolation, we consider how neurological, physical and psychological factors interact to explain your overall experience.
Our aim is to provide a clear explanation of how these different factors fit together, together with practical recommendations that can guide future management and ongoing care.
