Dr Michael Evison
I am a Consultant Psychiatrist working in an NHS specialist neurodeveopmental service. With extensive experience in physical health prior to specialising in psychiatry I have developed a longstanding interest in the overlap between physical and mental health.
Within the NHS I have helped develop an innovative ADHD Primary Care Service, where I lead training and supervision for clinicians assessing and treating ADHD. I have designed diagnostic and prescribing training programmes for healthcare professionals and regularly teach psychiatrists, GPs and allied professionals across the UK.
As both a psychiatrist and the parent of neurodivergent children, I have developed a particular interest in the wider impact of neurodevelopmental conditions across families. This includes supporting parents navigating the education system, understanding Special Educational Needs (SEN), recognising neurodevelopmental patterns across generations, and helping families understand how these differences can influence relationships, parenting and everyday life.
